Think about it…would you want a Pharmacist who didn’t go to School prescribing your medication or would you want a dentist pulling your wisdom teeth who didn’t go to dental school? Of course not! No matter the trade, school is the foundation and experience makes you the expert. Don’t let anyone convince you that Bartending School is a waste of time just because they chose to take the “school of hard knock” route and didn’t apply themselves. On Sunday, October 21st, JC Bartending Academypartnered with MillerCoors and Clear Channel and hosted a FREE Cowboys Watch Party on the MillerLite Mobile Party Bus! Retrofitted with a full bar, 42″ Flat Screen TVs and plenty of seating, the MillerCoors Mobile Party Bus provided free beer while participants relaxed on a Sunday afternoon and enjoyed watching the Cowboys beat the Carolina Panthers 19 to 14. JC Bartending Academy along with State Farm provided free food and refreshments to compliment the free beer.

Also hosted by 97.1 The Eagle, Cindy Skull commentated the play by play action at the JC Bartending Academy Cowboys Watch Party and provided free gifts for those who answered the challenging trivia questions. Throughout the game and during half-time, participants enjoyed playing Craps and Black Jack on the tables hosted by Champion Casino.
Graduates, potential students and the community enjoyed this free event at JC Bartending Academy! Participants also donated school supplies and cash on behalf of Bartenders Against Drunk Driving in which all proceeds have been donated to the Collin County Child Advocacy Center.

Bartending is fun but there is more to Bartending than just mixing drinks. There are legal implications with this career that could land you a long term vacation at the gray bar hotel…JAIL. As a bartender or server you have a moral obligation to take care of the people you serve and profit from. On June 24th, JC Bartending Academy hosted their 1st Annual “Battle of the Grads” to showcase their graduates and celebrate the 2 year anniversary of being DFW’s premier bartending school. The night consisted of five (5) JC Bartending Academy alumni competing to see who would claim the title of having the best unique drink concoctions. Each of the five alumni represented some of the hottest bars such as Café Malaga, Pepper Smash and PF Chang.
The Grads were challenged to 3 rounds of mixology where they had to create a tropical drink, a martini, and a shooter. All drinks were required to be made with a combination of the nights 3 top sponsors: Railean’s Rum, Million Vodka, and Finest Call mixers.
Our esteemed panel of judges faced the difficult task of crowning an overall winner through the pain-staking process of taste testing each cocktail that was made! In the end they selected JC Bartending Academy Alumni Cory Henry from Café Malaga as this year’s “Battle of the Grads” Champion and received the grand prize of $300 PLUS his drink featured on the Happy Hour menu at his restaurant.

It’s not just job, bartending is a career that could open doors for even more. Some feel that taking the hard road is the best way to learn the ropes and to earn stripes. In some cases it’s true. Marci was looking for a great way to earn money and for her, most importantly meet new people. Matt was excited to become a bartender after graduating from high school.
